Daniel J. Burns Bio A sworn police officer from 1994 to 2009, I have been an instructor for the State of Pennsylvania teaching police officers how to establish crime prevention programs in their communities. I have also served as an instructor for the FBI and U.S. Attorney’s Office designing and implementing the federal anti-violence "Safe Schools Program." After over two decades of combined law enforcement, corporate and retail security experience, I've learned a few things along the way. Just as bullet-proof vests are only bullet-resistant, "crime prevention" is actually crime deterrence. If someone wants what you have bad enough, they'll get it. The real trick is to make your possessions unappealing and not worth the effort or risk to the bad guys. The purpose of this web site is to keep you up to date and informed with the best possible information to insure your personal safety and the security of your family and possessions.
